The Game's crew escapes death

The Game was hosting and performing Thursday night at STORY Nightclub ... a few miles down the street from the famous Miami Beach hotel. Cops say no other vehicles were hit and there were no injuries.

According to the information gathered from TMZ, the Police tell us around 7:30 AM that a Mustang convertible drove past the valet outside the Fontainebleau Hotel and fired multiple shots into a white Mercedes-Benz G Wagon ... which cops are saying is associated with Game. The SUV was empty.

Wack 100, the Game's manager, tells TMZ that the vehicle that actually belongs to their crew is the black Chevy SUV next to the G Wagon and inside the police tape, he says their vehicle was not hit. Game also had a white Range Rover parked about 15 feet away from where the shots were fired.

During his gig at STORY, Game took some verbal shots at Meek Mill, calling him a snitch. Although, it's unclear if that's in any way related to the shooting.

The state of education in Nigeria requires an urgent solution- Dogara

Mr. Yakubu Dogara, the speaker of the House of Representatives, on Monday said that an urgent solution must be found to the over 1.5 trillion naira spent by Nigerians in search of education overseas on a yearly basis. He admitted that the country's education sector required immediate overhauling by the Federal Government, the National Assembly and other stakehloders.
Dogara made this known at the opening of public hearing on three bills and three motions by the House Committee on Tertiary Education in Abuja. The speaker was represented by Mr. Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, the Chief Whip of the House while the committee was chaired by Mr. Aminu Suleiman.

The alarming report that Nigerians spend over five hundred million Naira annually on their children studying in the United State of America and the United Kingdom calls for concern from every Nigerian.
One of the bills, which generated interest at the session, was a “Bill for an Act to Amend the TETFUND ACT 2011.”
“The House of Representatives is equally worried that over N1.5tr, which is nearly half of the total Federal Government Appropriations in 2015, is spent on Nigerians studying abroad.
“There is no better time for all hands to be on the deck to overhaul our educational sector than now, so that this sector can be turned into a source of foreign exchange as is the case with other countries.
“The House is determined to pursue this goal to fruition in fulfillment of its prescriptions in the Legislative Agenda to make concerted efforts in bringing about the desired change in the sector.”
At the hearing, the management of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund kicked against any plans to include federal colleges of education as beneficiaries of the Fund.

Street hawking: Lagos state empowers KAI to clamp down on the street traders, hawkers

The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Dr Babatunde Adejare, yesterday issued a quit notice to street traders and hawkers in the state. He said the measure became necessary following the recent outbreak of Lassa fever in some parts of the country and Lagos in particular, as well as the coming rainy season.

The illegal hawkers and street traders have not heeded the enlightenment and advocacy messages from the ministry on the need to keep the state’s environment clean and safe to attract more investors and boost the economy of the state.
The commissioner explained that the state government had given the Kick Against Indiscipline- KAI Brigade and the Task Force, assisted by other law enforcement agencies, the directive to clamp down on all violators of its environmental laws. He said all the agencies of the ministry had been fully mobilized with men and equipment to ensure a 24-hour monitoring and enforcement for a sustainable environment.

Speaking on lassa fever outbreak, Adejare urged lagosians to maintain personal hygiene, proper sanitation in their environment, especially, clean-up of the vegetation in their premises, and proper bagging and disposal of waste to keep off the wild vector rats spreading the virus,”
